Youth
Our Back to School Bash will be Glow Themed. We will eat fun foods, listen to music/dance, and spend time with the best youth in the world!
Please note that the date has changed from what I originally advertised. I’m so sorry about the confusion! Starting August 21st, we will have Prayer Breakfast on Fridays instead of Thursdays.
Wednesday night dinners and Devotions & Sports/Art return on August 26th. Dinner is at 5:30 PM (be sure to sign up for dinner with the church office each week by Monday at 4PM). Youth begins at 6:30 PM. Can’t wait!
During our Tuesday Night Bible Study, we will be using the following study: This is Jesus: The Ministry, Miracles, and Message of the Son of God.
Our prayer is that through this study, our youth will encounter the real Jesus—the loving yet uncompromising, miraculous yet humble, sinless yet controversial Savior who reveals the heart of God and invites all who will follow into a deep, intimate, and transformational relationship with Him.
We will begin with dinner at 5:30 PM and then start our Bible Study after we have finished eating.
Contact Danielle at DWilliams@helenamc.org for her address or if you have any questions.
We are going to kickoff our Sunday Nights together with a Parents vs. Youth Family Feud game! Parents, join us as we break bread together, serve alongside each other through a Backpack Buddies mission project, and then enjoy some fun competition.
We hope your youth will join us on Sunday nights for worship!
Our first unit that we will study together is called This is Love. Students are growing up in a world that tells them love is conditional or earned. It’s based on performance, popularity, or how well they measure up, and many of them have brought that mindset into their understanding of God’s love. This Is Love helps students see that God’s love is different than anything the world offers. This series challenges students to stop trying to earn God’s love and live as people who have been transformed by it.
If you are able, please send your youth with $2-$3 to help cover our snack supper costs. I will send out info soon on how you can pay for the entire semester in advance if that is something you would like to do. Thank you!
I am SO excited about our Staycation Retreat that is coming up! I can hardly keep myself from happy dancing up and down the halls every time I think about it! (See below for more detailed info such as cost and start/end times).
We are going to dive deep into worshipping Jesus Christ, the Name Above All Names, in every aspect of our lives during this retreat. We’ll go to the Elevation Worship concert at the BJCC on October 11th, we’ll serve at SOZO Trading Co on October 12th, we’ll study God’s word together, lift our voices to Him in song, spend time in prayer and quiet devotion, and fellowship with one another (We can praise God through our silliness and laughter too!).
If your youth is interested in attending, please sign them up ASAP. I ordered a certain number of tickets for the Elevation Worship concert, but if I need to order more, I need to do it right away to guarantee the spots and to get them close together. I don’t know how fast the seats will sell out, so please please please don’t wait to sign your youth up if this is something you would like for them to do.
Begins: October 11 @ 11 AM (We will attend the 11 AM service together to kickoff our retreat)
Ends: October 13 @ 9 AM
If your youth is not available for the entire retreat, but would like to come to part of it, email me at DWilliams@helenamc.org and let me know.
We will spend the night at the church both nights. All meals will be provided.
Cost is $75/person ($200/family max). This will cover your youth’s entire weekend (except for spending money). Please don’t let cost be a reason your youth does not attend, though. We have anonymous scholarships available for anyone who could use one. Just reach out and let me know.
I will need to have a Liability Release Form and a copy (front and back) of your youth’s Health Insurance Card in order for your youth to attend.
I will send more information and a packing list closer to time, but feel free to reach out with any questions ( DWilliams@helenamc.org).
